About Our Church
The Bremen Church of the Brethren was founded in 1866. The first building was south of Bremen on Third Road. In 1913, the congregation built on our current site, at the corner of Sherman and Montgomery Streets in Bremen. The church has added to and remodeled the building several times over the years. In a new century, we are again planning a new structure. We will be building in a newly developed area of Bremen, not far from the site of the original structure.
Our church has been served by Pastor Tom Hostetler since 1989. We enjoy his biblical, creative preaching. Our worship is generally relaxed in tone and varies in format from week to week. Our Sunday School offers classes for children and adults of all ages.
Our average Sunday attendance is about 140. Our music ministries contribute significantly to our worship. We are pleased with our active children's and youth ministries.
Our church has a long history of service and outreach. Currently we host a Bible class for students from the public school. We operate a preschool that includes Bible instruction. Our church has been involved for many years in support and short term mission work with the Church of the Brethren congregation in Caimito, Puerto Rico.
